Club History - Founded in 1910
The people of Teignmouth demanded a Bowling green, other nearby places, such as Dawlish, had them, and we were losing out, both as a tourist attraction and as a local facility for all of Teignmouth to enjoy.
After much discussion the council agreed that Teignmouth could not be left behind.
The Brimley widening (a road project at the time) resulted in a great surplus of soil suitable for the creation of a flat surface.
There was a discussion as to the location should it be the Den or Bitton Park. It was decided that Bitton Park was too far to walk.
Part of the Den was then levelled off with the waste from the Brimley widening. This has resulted in a well drained green which was opened in 1910.
